Gerry Mead, Phillips Executive, to Participate in NACV “Ask the Expert” Workshop

Santa Fe Springs, CA (October 23, 2019) Gerry Mead, executive director of innovation, at Phillips Industries and Phillips Connect Technologies, is slated to participate in the “Best Use of Smart Technologies” workshop to be held as part of the North American Commercial Vehicle (NACV) show in Atlanta, GA October 28 – 31st.

The “Best Use of Smart Technology” session will explore how IoT and high-tech technologies can transform commercial vehicle maintenance practices. Mead will present how smart technologies can be leveraged to solve some of the trucking industry’s major issues. He will also discuss how these technologies will transform the future of vehicle repairs, leading to a lower TCO.

Mead has an extensive background in multi-faceted fleet commercial vehicle technologies and how best to use emerging technologies to gain operational advantages. He has a certificate in maintenance management from Kansas University and is a certified VMRS Specialist, ASE Medium/Heavy Duty Technician, and a certified CNG Fuel System Inspector.

In his current position with the Phillips Industries family of companies, including Phillips Connect Technologies (PCT), Mead is driving smart vehicle technologies and developing the company’s core advanced electrical and air brake system components to meet the demands of today’s commercial fleets. Immediately prior to joining Phillips, Mead served as senior vice president of equipment and maintenance for U.S. Express, Inc. He has worked previously for some of the major brands in the heavy-truck industry, including Yellow Freight, JB Hunt, Walmart Transportation, and a Navistar multi-line dealership. He has been recognized by numerous industry organizations for his drive for innovation and equipment best practices.

Phillips Connect Technologies provides telematics solutions for trailers, chassis, and containers that add fully integrated cargo and health monitoring (lights, brakes, and tires) to real-time GPS tracking.
