Phillips Industries Expanded Global Capabilities on Display at 2012 Hanover IAA Commercial Vehicle Show

Santa Fe Springs, CA (September 19, 2012) Again in 2012, California-based Phillips Industries is exhibiting at the Hanover IAA Commercial Vehicle Show being held September 20-27. Phillips will be showcasing products and capabilities designed and developed to meet the needs of Phillips’ growing global customer base.

Phillips Industries is a globally recognized and highly demanded brand for coiled electrical and air systems for trucks and trailers. Phillips has factories in the United States, Mexico and China. To meet global demands for ISO and SAE products, they have recently added a European distribution center and sales team. Based in Naarden, The Netherlands, Phillips is now able to supply products to all of Europe quickly and cost-effectively. In addition, the Phillips sales team has many years of successful growth in Europe and effectively communicates the innovation and product quality that Phillips brings to that market. “European expansion is a natural extension for Phillips. Global truck and trailer OEMs are looking for global suppliers. Our partnerships with OEMs in North America, Southeast Asia and beyond help our global customers reduce their vendor base. Now OEMs from around the globe have access to the most recognized brand in coiled electrical & vehicle harness systems” says Rob Phillips, vice president of global operations.

Phillips products on display at IAA this year of particular interest to the European market include:

  • Phillips’ COLOR BY FUNCTION™ system that offers fleets an easy way to identify repairs and better manage their inventory. Socket lids, plug ends and cable jacketing are molded in the same color to identify 7N, 7S, ABS, EBS, and 15P systems. This allows drivers visibility to which systems a truck or trailer has with a quick look. It also provides a much better level of safety for the driver, since they no longer have to climb on the catwalk to identify the trailer or truck functions. The COLOR BY FUNCTION™ system will also help fleets and distributors stock the correct product with the correct inventory levels. The COLOR BY FUNCTION™ system is standard on all Phillips 7N, 7S, ABS, EBS and 15P plugs, sockets and cables.
  • A 24 Volt version of its very popular STA-DRY® modular, sealed electrical harness. This award-winning harness offers many money-saving features for the truck and trailer OEMs as well as many great benefits for fleets. With water-tight, “QWIK-SPLICE” connectors, easy installation provides time and labor savings for OEMs but also allows the fleet to make quick repairs if needed. Modular pieces simply snap together to form a leak-proof system designed for the life of the trailer.
  • At the front of the STA-DRY® Electrical Harness is the award-winning QCS2™ (Quick-Change Socket) system. The QCS2™ has been the OEM standard in North America and beyond for many years and Phillips is proud to introduce this highly demanded system in an ISO version. The QCS2™ system offers the best in corrosion-proof trailer electrical harnesses while allowing for remarkably quick socket changes, in less than one minute. The QCS2™ system is available in 7N, 7S, ABS, EBS and 15P as well as SAE applications.
