Tom Begin Joins Phillips Industries as Director of Innovation and Emerging Technologies
 
Santa Fe Springs, CA (July 28, 2016) Phillips Industries has hired Thomas “Tom” Begin to fill the new role of director of innovation and emerging technologies.  The appointment is effective August 1.
 
In this new position, Begin will be focused on launching new and innovative electrical and air brake technologies for heavy duty trucks and trailers.  Commercial vehicles are in a period of accelerating change and are increasingly relying on evolving technologies to meet the goals of cleaner and more productive equipment. Begin’s industry knowledge will lead Phillips Industries in finding inventive solutions that will advance the capabilities of both trucks and trailers to meet the demands of the future. 
 
Most recently Begin was director of maintenance for McKinney Trailer Rental Sales and Service in Portland, OR. He also spent over twenty years as an engineer with Daimler Trucks of N.A at their Freightliner facility in Portland.  Begin is Chairman of the AASE Committee and a past member of the Phillips Industries Fleet Council.  He holds a B.A. in Mechanical Engineering from the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.
