Phillips Industries Helps Raise Money for HDDC Charity

Santa Fe Springs, CA (June 19, 2013) Mike Poschner, Phillips Industries Canadian Regional Manager, is sporting a new look. During the Heavy Duty Distributors Council’s 29th Annual Business Conference held June 1-4 in Markham, Ontario, a silent auction was held to help raise money for the SickKidsFoundation www.sickkidsfoundation.com/home, a charity supported by HDDC. Items are donated by suppliers and distributors with Poschner offering to shave his head for the right price. A bid of $12,600 was enough for Mike’s makeover.

This is the 13th year that attendees at the HDDC Annual Business Conference contributed to the foundation and in 2013 they contributed $64,000 from the proceeds of the silent auction. Established in 1972 in Canada, SickKids Foundation raises funds on behalf of The Hospital for Sick Children. The Foundation’s fundraising is driven by the belief that improving the health and well-being of children is one of the most powerful ways to improve society.
